Process
This large scale work on paper is one of two that anchor the exhibition 'Poems for Independence'. They continue my exploration in landscape, spirituality, iconography, and poetry.
This work explores personal and shared stories about childhood, parenting, love, and self care. Recurring motifs in my practice are revisited in the work, including the orb, cruciform, textual marks, and ethereal figures, with a new radiant form emerging from above.
References
'It is well with the child' is an epitaph on a cruciform grave marker that I rediscovered in an old photograph from my childhood.
